In this exercise, you will select your company, define its product or service, and ensure that you can register the name on the Internet.
- Select a company name.
- Check to see that the domain name is available by going to the Network Solutions Web page.
- Enter http://www.networksolutions.com.
- Enter your newly created company name in the space provided.
- Click the Search button to begin the lookup.
- If your query results exhibit a previous registration, you must continue your search.
- Enter a new company name or an easily recognizable derivative of your company name.
- Repeat steps 5-8 until you find a company name you can register as a domain.
Once you have determined a company name or a derivative of your company's name that can be used as a domain name,
you can choose to register the domain. For the purposes of this exercise, it is not necessary to register a domain name unless it is one you wish to purchase and use. When you have completed this exercise, click
